Most PC students can agree, one of the best parts of homecoming week is getting to dress up.  Over the past years, themed costumes have been an integral part of the homecoming experience, and this year was no exception.  Here’s a look at this past week in homecoming costumes.

The sophomores showed off their spirit with electric 80s costumes.

Monday’s theme was the decades: Freshman 50’s, Sophomores 80’s, Juniors 90’s, and Seniors 60’s.  What do you get when you combine four distinct decades of style? Let’s just say there was a lot of neon, a lot of plaid, and a lot of tie dye.  Junior Zia Pirani said about the junior’s dress down prompt, “Decades day was really exciting because the juniors got to dress up in 90s outfits and I loved seeing what everyone came up with.”

Jake Solomon and Tessa Gulley say aloha on salad dressing day.

Tuesday’s theme was quite an interesting one: salad dressings.  No, students didn’t come to school dressed up as bottles of salad dressing; the theme was stretched and interpreted by the students of each grade to create interesting and creative costumes.  The Freshman were Ranch dressing, so naturally many students came dressed up as cowboys.  The sophomores received BALL-salmic, so they came dressed up as athletes.  The juniors took Greek and Caesar dressing in two different directions with half the grade dressing up in togas like gods and goddesses and the other half dressing as frat boys.  Finally, the seniors received Thousand Island dressing; as one would expect, the dominant costume choice was a tropical vibe, topped off with sunglasses and leis.

Flash forward to Thursday, the day when each student revealed his or her true colors for class color day.  This day was quite a spirited one as each student represented their class with bold, colorful outfits.  In a sea of blue, orange, yellow, and red, it was clear that each class was well represented.  At the Powderpuff game, each class brought out its immense spirit, congregating in colorful masses to cheer their classmates on.

Friday marked a closing to the dress down festivities of homecoming week.  What better way to bring the week to a close than to proudly sport some PC spirit? Decked in green and white, everyone showed their pride for the school, uniting together to end homecoming week with a bang at the football game later that night.
